Bob Berkowitz, Chuck Norris & More

In this May 1993 episode of The Dini Petty Show, Chuck Norris sits down with Dini Petty just three weeks after Walker, Texas Ranger premiered on CBS. At 53, with 21 films behind him, he skips the action-hero talk and describes the shy, fatherless boy he once was. He was raised by a single mother alongside his two brothers, and he explains how martial arts discipline finally broke him out of a shyness that followed him into young adulthood.

Norris also recounts how every major Hollywood studio turned down Sidekicks until a Houston businessman bankrolled it. He tells a story about a young Jean-Claude Van Damme leaping onto a producer's desk and doing the splits to land his role in Bloodsport. He talks about his 33 years of teaching, his 9th-degree black belt ranking within the UFAF and the 640 black belts he helped train. The episode also features Bob Berkowitz and Marco Saccochio.
