Sir Michael Caine sits down for a rare, candid hour in December 1992. The Academy Award–winning star of Alfie is disarmingly frank — on the wild bachelor years he describes as "two bottles of vodka a day," on playing Scrooge as an outright psychopath opposite Kermit the Frog in The Muppet Christmas Carol, and on the love story he tells better than anyone: spotting his wife Shakira in a Maxwell House coffee commercial and tracking her down. He also offers his unfiltered take on beauty after a career of meeting, in his words, "practically every beautiful woman in the world." Part of a 1992 Dini Petty Show episode that also featured Girl Talk, Trisha Romance, "Courage In the Air," and an ice climber.
