Sheryl Crow sits down with Dini Petty in December 1998, three albums in and just off her first record written entirely in the first person. She tells the story of writing "My Favorite Mistake" — the song she has spent three decades refusing to explain — and how it came so easily she was convinced she'd accidentally stolen it, phoning friends and her publisher to check it wasn't already someone else's.
